I am an Icarus.
I flew too high
I wanted too much
The sun punished me
For my sins
My wings melted
And the sea reached up
With gnashing teeth
Masquerading
As rolling waves
Its hungry tongue
Pretending to be
Swirling currents
The sea swallowed me
Whole
Like a stared, cavernous
Monster.
I now lie in the
Belly of the beast.
Amongst the floatsam
And the forgotten
Remember me.
